Over at the latest facebook page aimed at trying to blunt the right for us to have free speech, David Webb wrote this about us:
David Webb I don't have a mask to take off, but I'm more than ready to shoot the moon at the crowd that would deny someone their right to a fair trial and convict them beforehand. Let the judicial system work
He wants to shoot the moon at us, I'm not sure but is shoot the moon some kind of gay slang for try and kill us? I think I need to contact the authorities, this is queerly I mean clearly going to keep me up at nights.
So David doesnt think Joey is getting a fair trial? Well he certainly showed his hold card on that one.
So, let's see. Joey going to jail or being charged with felonies is big enough news that it's reported by multiple news organizations - even David jumps on board to report (and later blog). But, we aren't allowed to discuss this or have opinions? Nobody has said that Joey doesn't deserve a fair trial. There has been conjecture about what may have transpired when Joey was alone with that boy or how this case even got picked up by the Texas Rangers. But, we've all expressed we want Joey to have a fair trial. Sorry, even though he fails to see it, this is a rational group of people that support our legal system. None of us are going to be on the jury. So I don't see why there is a problem with having a conversation about something that even David deemed newsworthy. David?
ReplyDeleteOh and let's talk about denying someone their right to fair trial. How many times did Joey label people with criminal titles even when there was no proof & no trial? Joey was supposedly a journalist which means that the average reader is going to assume that he holds himself accountable for reporting facts. David Webb's new friends Presley, Connie, and Loryn are really great at denying the men in their lives the right to fair trial. Connie makes allegations against SC & Presley makes allegations against DT as if it's all fact supported by evidence. I have yet to see "evidence" that couldn't easily be explained as something else. They've done anything but "let the judicial system work."
Is David Webb really so dumb that he can't see through these people? Is he so biased that he can't read what has really been written about Joey on these blogs? He sees what he wants to see apparently - just exactly like all his new found friends.
glad to see you have a new blog, I had just found the old one when it vanished into the ether...
ReplyDeleteI find all of this to be very interesting stuff. I had stumbled across it while reading about Connie and Presley. LOL what a deluded pair they are. Not one shred of evidence to back up their claims. Anyone here know what is going on with daddy Tuma?
I see Loryn went to jail today. Yep, following in Connie's footsteps is such a good plan!
Off to read the posts that I missed since the move :)
good to see you made it. they can try and shut us down, but it wont work in the end. Yeah Connie and Presley, or the scissor sisters as they sometimes go by, are two peas in a pod. And when they want to have a threesome, the third leg is Loyrn and she was jailed today. I think Mr. Tuma will meet his demise the first of the year and Connie still has some court dates of her own to worry about.
DeleteReally? I thought Conster was done with court. LOL, good to know they aren't done with her.
DeleteI am really not surprised by the charges against Timmy, only by the shear volume of them. I love how she spins it into some conspiracy, hahahha, it's always a conspiracy with her, and people like Joey. Funny how it's never anything they did, and they are so important that the world is out to get them personally.
I also find it funny how they think everyone who posts is either the same person, or the person they are accusing falsely...it's never that multiple people can figure out they are full of bullshit and batshit crazy. I can't tell you how many times I have been accused of being DT, even though Connie has published my picture and knows I am not.
the last I heard she still had some legal issues ahead of her, but maybe she got out of them since then I haven't been keeping up.
DeleteI dont think Connie wants her daughter back. She has too much fun "partying" every night to have to deal with a child. Thats why she lost her daughter in the first place. She is using this crusade to get attention to her, which, as an attention whore, she craves however she can get it.
My message obviously was not directed at anyone who advocates a fair trial and the concept of innocent until proven guilty. But's hard to believe people who have ridiculed me because I am old and gay and accused me of having ulterior motives for writing about Joey Dauben's legal troubles don't sound much like fair-minded people. Evidently, Wordpress.com didn't think so either when they shut your former blog down a week ago in the middle of your gang hate speech attack on me.
Deletethere you go making another non-issue into an issue just like your little 1st amendment claim that fell apart as soon as it left your fingers on the keyboard. Joey is getting a fair trail, and got one. Do you think the jury in his Ellis county case was unfair? Do you think he is going to get one in the Navarro case? The only people who are even hinting at that are the Daubenistas and its laced with conspiracies that were already pre written before Joey was even arrested.
DeleteI didn't say he wouldn't get a fair trial. I said there are people who have already convicted him in their hearts and minds and so they don't want him to have a fair trial. If you have an open mind about whether he is guilty or not, then you aren't one of those people. But if you are one of them already branding him as a child molester and accusing me of defending a child molester, then you clearly are not a fair-minded person. And the issue of the Ellis County verdict will be reviewed by an appeals court to determine if the conviction on charges of fraudulent use of identifying information was just and fair. It is my opinion that the wrong law possibly was used to prosecute him, and I base that on the opinion of a nationally-known legal scholar.
Deletewhat difference does it make if some of the people that he has hurt out there think of him as guilty, or want him to be guilty? As long as the jury is unbiased what difference does that make? Thats why I say for you to even raise the issue shows your card.
DeleteWhen there is a campaign of hate waged against a crime defendant in a community it could easily have an impact on potential jurors. They've already had one mistrial because they couldn't seat an impartial jury.
Deleteyeah and where is this "campaign of hate" you are talking about? Oh and there is that word again, hate......hmmmmmm
DeleteThe only reason Navarro County couldnt seat an impartial Jury is because only 63 people who were sent a jury summons out of 200 showed up.
Deletewow, that is a lot of people who skipped out on jury duty!! I thought there were penalties for not showing up when summoned.
DeleteHopefully there will be plenty of people in the jury pool for the upcoming trial.
Thanks for that info :)
It's right here on this website.
ReplyDeleteand there you have it. You just verified that every single thing we have said about you is most likely true. You are directly invloved in this case trying to help joey get an appeals case, by your own admission and now you call this a hate site certianly verifing that you were the one that reported it.
DeleteNope, you are reaching all of the wrong conclusions. I didn't report it. I wasn't the one who got you removed and branded a hate site. The night that you were attacking me I got a message from someone who said, "if it is any comfort to you this website is being monitored." Later, I learned it had been shut down. I am not directly involved in this case. I wondered if anyone else thought the charge was a peculiar one and so I reached out to someone I know whose opinion counts for an answer to my question about the conviction. I have never crossed a professional line in my reporting about this case. You can claim I'm not a journalist anymore all you want, but that's not true. I'm a semi-retired journalist who gets paid for the work he still does. I am not an anonymous blogger like you.
Deleteyou see "hate campaign" is a specific term. This site and many on here are certainly critical of things Joey has done, but no where on here is there actual hate of Joey Dauben. You as a supposed journalist and certainly as a gay man should know the difference between hate speech and critical discourse.
DeleteNow I'm going to give you an assignment since you just made a specific accusation. You get to play reporter again, go and find the posts that I have put up that support the claim that this site is a "campaign of hate" at Joey Dauben. You made a claim, you offered no proof and now you are being called on it. Its your move, either run and hide, call us names or actual take the time to think about what you said and find the absolute evidence to support your claim.
The hate is in your hearts and by your own admission your previous site was shut down for hate speech.
Delete"so I reached out to someone I know whose opinion counts for an answer to my question about the conviction"
Deleteisnt that sweet of you, and now as you say team Joey is taking you up on it as its going to the appellate court. My question is who is paying this new bill and what would have happened had you not gotten involved?
nice job, way to back everything up with facts instead of pure conjecture.
DeleteI have no idea who is paying for the appeal, which was already planned. I didn't know about it until I reached out and asked. The purpose of my call was to ask if an appeal was planned, not to suggest one.It really shouldn't come as such a surprise that an appeal was in the works. I would have been surprised if one was not planned, but I am pretty familiar with this stuff because I covered civil and criminal courts for years. I suspect that the Ellis County prosecutor knew it would be appealed, and realizes that the conviction probably will be overturned. He was under pressure to get a conviction. And that's politics for you.
DeleteThere you go with your cheerleader hat on again with absolutely zero facts to back you up. Ok, once again I ask you to pretend like you are a reporter and cut out your opinion and specify exactly what it is about the charges that you thought was misappropriated?
Delete"I suspect that the Ellis County prosecutor knew it would be appealed, and realizes that the conviction probably will be overturned. He was under pressure to get a conviction. And that's politics for you."
Is this Joey Dauben himself talking here? Where the hell does that come from? You make it sound like Wilson was desperate and just made up some crazy charges at the last second to get something to save himself politically. They had these charges on him from day one, no change is course, no rush to judgment, they methodically did this and got a conviction from a jury in less than 1 hour. For most people thats called a slam dunk, for the Daubenistas such as yourself, its called some kind of conspiracy.
If you consider what was posted last year about you was hate speech, what do you consider what the person that you have the audacity to call a "journalist" wrote constantly online? People wrote comments that were not even close to what Dauben had written and from what I can tell they were trying to make a point.
ReplyDeleteThat little internet bully has caused and continues to cause havoc form the bullshit he has written and you for some reason ignore the destruction he has caused and want to give him a sliver of credibility by writing as if he is part of the journalist brethren. He IS NOT A JOURNALIST, he's a little twerp that never got the attention from his wheelie-loving and found a niche where he could be a tough guy online when in real life he is a cowering little boy that screamed in a microphone in his grandma's basement. In order to cover your tracks, you use the excuse of "I never agreed with his approach in reporting", people who know the truth say "he is a blogger who got his kicks of making fun of others, attacking other or attempting to incite others to attack people".
You say people should be open minded to whether or not he was gulity when time after time he accused, judged, convicted and attempted to hang innocent people. Did you ever think that your so-called "reporting the facts and being an unbiased third-party" opens you up to criticism?
I don't see anyone hating you or calling you anything because of your own personal background. People are fed up with his antics and bullshit and the criticism you receive is a result of the lack of criticism you have about Dauben.
SC
It isn't my job to punish him, and you know that when you contacted me and told me about some remarks that were made about you in the comments section under a story I wrote that I got those remarks removed. I have been fair to you.
ReplyDeletewhat the hell are you talking about?
Deleteask SC
DeleteOk, well no one is asking you to punish him. No one is even asking you to go after him. But what we all have been trying to point out to you is that you blatant disregard for the crimes Joey has been doing and is now convicted of is the equivalent of journalistic malpractice. As a liberal activist I'll give you an analogy you would understand. Your coverage of Joey being called unbiased is the same thing as watching Fox News and saying their coverage of the election was completely unbiased. Both of you can escape and try and hold on to your "journalist" card because thats how far journalist have fallen, but its laughable to anyone that reads it.
DeleteI never asked you to punish him. I find it odd that you take my contacting you as me wanting you to punish him. (Unless your comment was directed to someone else.) I read some of your articles and thought you might be someone who is unbiased and wants to know facts.
DeleteThe one and only one single reason I wrote to you was because I had thought perhaps you were someone who might be willing to address his attacks of finding people guilty that either had already been through the courts regarding allegations and found to cleared or were never in court. You claim to be an unbiased third party that believes he deserves a fair trial. I don't think anyone wants him not to get a fair trial, even me. After reading more of your stories about his trials(s), I realized that you had a skewed view of things and really had no interest in addressing the pain he has caused innocent people.
Plain to see I was way off and assumed way too much.
I was referring to what you said in tonight's post about people being upset because I had not criticized him more. However, I said he was "unprofessional, unfair and reckless." That's just about the worst thing you can about someone who is reporting the news. I have been dealing with two legal cases filed against him regarding specific charges. That's a pretty big job in itself. I've remained focused on those cases, but I have reported that he has made many, many enemies over the years because of his reporting tactics, which were universally condemned by journalists, lawyers and everyone else. There are many facets of Dauben's life I have never touched in the stories. It would take a book to do that.
DeleteSee what I mean? COMPLETELY BIAS! YOU have a victim of Joey's trying to talk to you and you basically put him on ignore. Why David? Because you favor Joey and could care less who joey hurt, how many or how bad. Pathetic
DeleteDavid: I'm glad to see you back with us. I agree with SC, initially your reports seemed unbiased. But the more we get to know you, the more you seem to lean a little too far to the left. I have taken exception to 2 statements you've made under this post.
ReplyDelete1) "They've already had one mistrial because they couldn't seat an impartial jury." That sounds like, in your view, all of the potential jurors had made a decision that Joey is guilty before they showed up in court. It is my understanding that due to limited responses to jury summons, there were not enough potential jurors willing to consider probation for a child molester. If I'm correct, that would indicate the fine folks of Navarro County that bothered to show up for jury duty have an opinion that all child molesters ought to go jail. I don't think a collective opinion about child molesters in general reflects a bias towards Joey specifically. I do agree with the call, don't have a trial until a fair and impartial jury will consider all of the evidence and the full range of punishment allowed by law if they convict.
2)"I have reported that he has made many, many enemies over the years because of his reporting tactics". Your statement, even in context, makes Joey sound like a less sophisticated Mike Wallace or Harry Reasoner. Joey didn't "report", he posted malicious gossip. To say Joey made enemies is an understatement: Joey hurt people for no other reason than self gratification, it's the people Joey hurt that are his "enemies". To call these people "enemies" elevates Joey to a level of importance he does not deserve. And, when I read the word "enemies" that conjured up visions of people waiting and plotting to strike at Joey. I fully expected the next sentence to have reference to a governmental conspiracy to shut Joey up.

ReplyDelete"Unlike the DDP i will not just take one side. There were things Joey did that can not be excused but he also had great value."
@ Brannon...oops...I mean, WWJD: I think we've covered the inexcusable things. Please, give us at least one example of Joey's great value. Give us the other side, without name calling and cussing. It's not like Gingersnap and some of the rest of us haven't asked...no wait, we've BEGGED for examples of Joey's greatness. While you think about a really good example to give us, please keep this in mind: it only takes one "oh shit" to knock out all the "atta boys".
Also with regard to the cyber bullying definition: turn your little pointy finger right around to Joey the Great. You've perfectly defined our complaint - the inexcusable things Joey did. Just think, if it weren't for Joey none of us running around in Gingersnap's head would be here, this blog would not exist. If not for Joey, we wouldn't have known about or given attention to all the others that provide us so much entertainment in Joey's absence.
