The Defense Has Concluded Their Dog and Pony Show
It sounds like Joey has taken over on his defense team as they have spent the morning bringing up character witnesses in an effort to get Joey probation. They have called a messianc mother of 9 who said Joey was always good around her kids. Prosecution asks her if Joey was ever alone with any of them....No, would you want Joey to drink around them...No (I would have also asked why anyone would have 9 kids).
Then comes the Kevin's house story. Joey trots up there the mother who came to Joey about abuses at Kevins House. She said she wanted to notify someone, so she told Joey. Then up comes her son who is a convicted felon (drug crime) and his testimony backfires to some degree.
Next we have Joey's probation officer I guess to say that Joey sort of followed his probation. Then the defense rested, Mommy and Daddy sitting on the sidelines deciding not to beg for mercy. So now the jury is deciding on how long he will be in prison.

That prosecutor is good
ReplyDeleteAgain I ask, Why does society give so many chances to criminals??? VICTIMS DON'T GET SECOND CHANCES.
ReplyDeleteSlapped wrists, or time outs, don't make these people suddenly productive members of society. History...that tells where this persons mind is at, as far as where their future will go.
Here's a news flash...don't want to go to jail??? Don't break the law.
It was/is/and never will be a victims actions that created the problem, it was solely the act of the criminal...the victim is just the innocent target of a personal decision to ignore the law.
Yep. Dauben just thought 12 days was hell. That is nothing compared to the sentence he is about to likely get!
ReplyDeleteTaco Bell is most likely not even in his future. Who would hire a convicted sex offender pedophile??
Pie Boy would. LOL
DeleteAnd he gets Probation -Brannon
ReplyDeleteIs that solid - probation? Hell, that's a win for Joey.
ReplyDeleteNah, not really... They haven't gotten thru yet-Brannon
ReplyDeleteWow he did win. Must not have believed the victim that much
ReplyDeleteHow so? He was convicted on all four counts. If the jury is dumb enough to give him probation, that doesn't mean they didn't believe the victim, or they would have cleared him of all charges.
DeleteBecause anytime you have two choices, going to jail or not going to jail, not going to jail wins, hands down. Hell, he can live with mom and dad and watch TV or play Xbox or whatever it is man-children do to pass the time away after being convicted of raping a teenage boy.
DeleteIf you wrote the first comment, it appeared as though you were saying he got probation because the jury didn't believe the victim. So, read the above comment again.
DeleteYes, I get probation is a win for Joey the kangaroo man child.
No, no descision yet... Just misinformation fro
ReplyDeletecamp dauben
Damn, Brannon- don't do that!
ReplyDeleteI bet the jury will sentence today. In my experience (I'm a lawyer) jurors hate having to come back more than absolutely necessary once the two sides have closed.
You at the courthouse, Brannon?
I'm actually surprised Special Ed didn't try and pull that stunt with the original verdict, after all he loves messing with us. Hey Brannon, after this is over how about one more youtube video to cap everything off? maybe have it ready for when it gets light again?
DeleteLol, Ya I've been here the whole week -Brannon
ReplyDeleteoh and PLEASE put on that stoopid unitard that you wore in every video, at least we could actually see you had more balls than Joey
ReplyDeleteThe morph suit showed that his IQ wasn't the only thing he was lacking in size.
DeleteBazinga!
DeleteI think 20 years at least.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I would not entirely disagree with probation. He has his Ellis conviction, and would be a registered sex offender. He so much as farts the wrong way then, he'd be toast.
This is coming by just he Joey I knew. I did not see him as dangerous. I did no see him as a home invader. I did not see him as a bank robber. I did not feel threat near him.
Since its been so long since it came to trial, he's been locked up pretty much for a year, no credibility in writing... AND if he was on a long time sex offender registry... He'd be dog meat if he did anything else.
So anyway, that's my bias, and why I would be dismissed from a jury.
I think this jury will see his crimes, his former, and his lack of admitting it. I think 20.
I enjoy Brannon's videos he should have studied psychology or at least been the subject of a psychologist
ReplyDeleteI actually enjoy Psychology some of the books I have are some-Brannon
DeleteI like the firecracker one
DeleteI think 10 years serves less
ReplyDeleteFor the past two hours, I've been anxiously awaiting Joey's sentencing. And hearing that haunting “Final Jeopardy” theme song run
ReplyDeleteGingersnap- your reporter should be in the courtroom, not on a bench outside it-Brannon
ReplyDeleteHow do you know you are not my reporter?
DeleteI thought Webb was the reporter? Or is there a REAL press there?
DeleteJust wondering....if Joey gets probation, will Ellis County whoop out those charges they have in reserve for the porno pics? That's another felony.
ReplyDeleteOn another note: Loryn has some guy who says he's a PI that really went after Bill hard. Bill ain't even playing, this is getting uglier.
I didn't know porn was a felony..? There is a porn shop on I-45 around the Rice area before Corsicana from Dallas....
DeleteI'm guessing we are talking about child porn Jimmy. Obviously porn in general isn't a felony.
DeleteOReader, if he had kiddie porn...
DeleteI am without words. It seems like every day a new chapter is opened.
ye ah, kiddie porn was found when Ellis Cty seized the computers. Joey thought he was going to be charged, he started posting his defense in advance. Just like he did with the sexual assault charges.
DeleteNothing,...
DeleteWow. Just insane. This is the most disgusting thing... I had no idea.
Look I'm not for porn or anything, but of all the free porn of grown women, even young women on the internet, why did he go for THAT!
Was it confirmed, like do they have a lot of evidence?
Joey made it public, outed himself because he can't keep his big mouth shut. Some contacts I have in LE also have talked about it.
DeleteI thought for sure there would be a decision by the time I came home today.
ReplyDeleteDid they actually find child porn on Joey's computer? It really is sad that this took so long for the charges. I bet there have been a lot of illegal things on Joey's PC over the years. However, by now he's probably had new computers or rewritten over the data with new data.
Man, all went quiet about 20 mins ago. Me hopes this is a good sign that the jury is back, and Ginger's working up a masterpiece filled with jolly good news!
ReplyDeletewb
I think they are still in deliberations. And I also think that could be a very bad sign for Joey as maybe a couple of them are going for the max.
DeleteI agree with you. Deliberations this long is NOT a good sign for Joey.
DeleteMore likely, there are some holdouts for probation being beaten down by the other jurors. Still, a bad sign for Joey.
ReplyDeleteI think it's the opposite. I think since they came to an initial verdict, they were all way on the guilt page. So it's probably long sentence vs longer sentence. I doubt probation is on the table based on the time to convict.
DeleteI agree with OReader on this one.
DeleteLonger means they are discussing 10 to 40 years.
I'm thinking 5-7 per count, stacked. Not an even number either.
Someone is sleeping outside the courtroom, they have a verdict-Brannon
ReplyDeleteMr. Picky notes we already have four verdicts. What we are waiting on are four sentences and an indication as to whether they run concurrently or consecutively.
Deletelol. Mr. Picky, I noticed that wording also. funny.
DeleteYeah it got quiet something is up
ReplyDeleteDear Santa,
ReplyDeleteI pinkie promise to be good IF you would give me my gifts early.
1) Lower the fence for JimmyS, so that hopping back & forth won't be such a challenge. **He knew Joey. he didn't know Joey. Joey should get probation, Joey should go to prison. Joey will do very little time, Joey will do 80 years.
2) Get JimmyS some new pants because he has ripped crotch out of least 5 pair since Friday with his fence jumping & I predict he will at the very least shart in the ones he's wearing today, regardless of what jury decides.
3) Please have Internet connection to JimmyS go on fritz immediately after sentencing is announced & stay on fritz for at least 72 hours so that our eyes do not bleed from reading any more his goofy musings.
4) Please assist Brannon in making one more video in MorphSuit/ unitard. **Firecracker one is my personal fav :0)
Please & Thank You in advance
Slimmy
I heart Slimmy.
DeleteYou forgot that Jimmy also hearts Bruce. ;)
DeleteHaha... No I just believe him.
DeleteHowever, after the verdict, I got a disturbing email...
You have to share something with the class here, Jimmy, after that post.
Deletewb
Well, I guess I just can't figure people out.
DeleteI got an email which I will not reveal the sender, that said Bruce H., and Joey have engaged in "homosexual acts" with each other.
Bruce has been on here, and only he can confirm or deny this.
That report is untrue. I don't know who would say that, or why.
Delete@ Jimmy: BFD. If it's so, they are consenting adults. Not our business
DeleteThank you Bruce. Disregard. It was not a credible source, and not from somebody I believed. I'll just say the person lives in Cleburne that sent me the email and leave it at that.
DeletePlease don't be fricking with us again on the verdict thingy, Brannon.
ReplyDeleteSlimmy's asking Santy Claus for awesome gifts which will benefit us all.
Mr. & Mrs. Jury Peeps - we thank you for your service, but our blood pressure cannot take much longer. Besides, Jimmy needs to tell us about those prison guides again, and a sentence gives him reason.
And now that I've called the jury "peeps", it proves the conspiracy theory. Drats.
^^ prison guides.
DeleteActually some are pretty good. There's this one....
Nah, I just don't want Joey to never come out of prison.
Say it, and Slimmy will hunt you down. And I'll have the bail $$$ waiting. ;) j/k
DeleteI heart you ALL back~ JimmyS? not so much....
ReplyDelete& Brrrrrrrrrrr...it is super duper cold up here on pole outside of Drucker's...I will be shimmy-ing down, now & watching from warmth of recliner...
JimmyS? I got a guide for YOU~ you wanna comment again? count to 10,000 first. If it still seems intelligent & important enough to you after that? Then, just go for it.
Slimmy
Jimmy, don't use double negatives. I can't tell if you do or do not want Joey to ever get out of prison.
ReplyDeleteI'm leaning against - the recidivism rate for child molesters is shockingly high.
Yes, I want Joey to eventually become a good member of society.
DeleteWith most convicts, I'd agree, but child rapists are a different class -- liek I said, the recidivism rate is very high. I'd only want it under close supervision (perhaps lifetime ankle monitor, to start), and only then if I thought he would not be a threat, on any level, to anyone.
DeleteThe idea of Joey on the streets, as reckless as ever, but hardened with a first class prison education, scares me.
Also anonymous, the instances of Homosexuals in prison being raped, killed, & pimped out is NOT good news for Joey.
DeleteChild molesters in general are not treated well. Gossips, rumor mongers, and false accusers are often shanked.
I do want to see him make it out of prison, have a family, and a good life. I'd want that for anybody who has truly changed.
But presley and webb say joey is straight...
DeleteI understand all that, Jimmy, and think it is a sad commentary on our prisons. If necessary for his safety, he should be kept out of the general population. But I also think that if he is convicted, one consideration in sentencing has to be whether he will pose a threat to others when he gets out.
DeleteOReader, not according to my gaydar. I've said that since I've been posting on here.
DeleteAlso, wasn't there some admittance by his own admission to having engaged in homosexuality?
I agree Anon.
DeleteIt is sad that our prisons are that way. Also, I feel it is hypocrisy when people laugh about being "bent over" for "bubba", almost like its advocating rape for Joey - because they are so outraged at Joey raping.
Supposedly, but experimenting doesn't make somebody gay. Granted, I think he is, but he says he's not, and he has a girlfriend. When you say you want him to eventually have a family, do you mean with a gay partner?
DeleteYou seem to be giving credit to the Presley relationship, but that's a farce if he is gay.
Anon, they do usually offer seperation for child predators and gays in prison.
DeleteBrannon has some breaking news on his FB page, he is very excited about the burn ban being lifted. Fireworks tonight Branny?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way for Brannon to celebrate JoJo's sentencing. Gah. I wish they'd hurry up. So how cone Pres didn't partake in Joey's last weeks of freedom?
ReplyDeleteWhat time did the jury go in?
ReplyDelete2:30ish, I believe.
DeleteJoey admitted to a homosexual relationship shortly after HS which means he was 22. He assured everyone that he washed that part of him away.
ReplyDeletePresley has been MIA since day one of the trial. I think she is hiding out in South Dakota at a bunker to be named later. Raise your hand if you were dumb enough to fall for the "We are about to get married and start our lives together" scam.
It's so sad. I really think all of Joey's trouble with his sexual identity is because he feared rejection. I can't help thinking the assault is a result of Joey's denial that he is attracted to males.
DeleteThe story needs to be looked at by an expert and written about. There's a lot going on that makes for a fascinating study.
DeleteCrying uncontrollably.
ReplyDeleteSanta has obviously abandoned me in my hour of dire need.
JIMMY S? you were just asking YESTERDAY if Joey had been F*cking CONNIE! *cause he mentioned it to you....
Does Santa have a cell number in case of emergencies?
Slimmy
sniff sniffle sob
Slimmy, dahlink, Jimmy just almost accidentally outed Bruce for going both ways, while secrectly mancrushing on him all last week.
DeleteJimmy, you're making our heads hurt. Can you run over to Corsicana and check on the status of the sentencing? Help a few sistahs out here, would ya?
wb
"Can you run over to Corsicana and check on the status of the sentencing"
DeleteCareful how you words things to ole Jimmy. He might be out on the road right now Forrest Gumping it to Corsicana.
Jimmy she meant drive over, not run over to Corsicana.
ROFLMAO
DeleteJimmy S.
DeleteThere are people here posting in my name....
ah well... Will be over soon.
"Careful how you words things"
DeleteGuess I Gumped that one up myself. No more Iphone postings
Anonymous...
DeleteHow many anonymouses are there??
I said no such thing. Somebody is posting with my name. Was it you?
Gumping.
ReplyDeleteI'm using that from now on.
I heart Ginger to the moon & back.
Slimmy
My bad. Jimmy, no worries. No hoofing required. We're hearing the sentence has come in. But..we're awaiting official confirmation. Pop the popcorn, folks...the next few minutes are going to be a victory for us all!
ReplyDeletewb
will their be any civil lawsuit after the trial?
ReplyDeleteTo recover what assets? I'd never take the case absent a huge retainer and an hourly fee.
DeleteWhen he gets out he's getting a "real job"
DeleteForgive me if I don't get excited about the prospect of getting paid in Taco Bell hot sauce packets.
Deleteyeah I guess its about hitting the lotto when it comes to rape. Jeesh....
DeleteSentence is in, its a confusing one, but he is gone at least 10 years
ReplyDeleteNot sure, but very possible.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying not to dance yet; someone please confirm! I sent Webb an e-mail, hoping he has his IPhone in the courtroom turned on.
We need confirmation.
We're not Joey.
We wait to confirm before reporting.
But man, the anticipation is KILLING me!
wb
? like when he's eligible for parole?
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly is the sentence?
ReplyDeletehttp://corsicanadailysun.com/local/x2056583845/Dauben-sentenced-to-prison
ReplyDeletemaybe just 5 years
ReplyDeletehttp://corsicanadailysun.com/local/x2056583845/Dauben-sentenced-to-prison
ReplyDelete"In closing arguments, his attorney asked the jury for probation, arguing that it was one incident and that his client would benefit from rehabilitation."
REALLY? Only one incident and his client would benefit from rehabilitation? One would have to admit guilt, which he didn't, but apparently his lawyer thinks otherwise.
My heart goes out to the victim and hope that he knows this was not his fault and that his bravery may have saved others.
