Will Joey Dauben Make a Run For the Border?

That is the first question on people's mind, did he, last night, cut off his ankle bracelet and head for Mexico?  I dont think so because I think in Joey's head he thinks he is winning.  He probably feels he is going to come in today, take the stand and clear up this big misunderstanding.  But lets look at what we have learned:

-Joey is a hardcore sexual deviant.  The ease at which he put the full court press on this 14 year old virgin in one night leaves no doubt in my mind that he has been a part of a dark sexually perverse underground for some time.  What really scares me the most in this story is how Joey didn't seem that nervous, he didn't seem to be worried that what he did was wrong and said, as the boy testified Joey saying "everybody does it".  I think that might be true in the circles that Joey ran in.  We now have to look at Joey's relationship with Michael Messinger in a new light.  Not just as one monster and one curious confused blogger, but as two monsters involved in a dark underground world of sexual exploitation of young boys.  I think its pretty clear that Joey wasn't just a reporter in this, he was right there involved in it.

-The hard turn towards exposing child predators that Joey decided to take is pretty clear now.  No wonder Joey couldn't stop talking about pedo rings, he was obsessed with them.  Now we can see why he loved reporting every single sick detail in these pedo rings he just knew were out there.  Well of course he knew about them, he was very much a part of it.  Maybe he figured that if he could snitch out the others, his sins would be absolved.

-What blame do Mommy and Daddy Dauben share in this monster that roams in their midsts?  They were more than willing to give Joey all the aid he needed to continue living the lifestyle he did.  They might have disagreed with parts of what Joey did but never did their disproval equal a lack of support, either monetarily or by defending their son.  Cheri taking the stand yesterday to try and explain that Joey liked to do other things while the shower was running and while waiting for it to heat up, was an insult to everyone in the courtroom that day.  But it was classic Dauben.  These people live in a make believe world where any and everything they say must be true mainly because they said it.  Accountability for ones actions is never given, only excuses and blame shifting even if that means going conspiratorial.

-So far the defense has been able to get everyone wondering the big questions like "who originally bought the Wild Turkey, and was Joey drinking beer or Wild Turkey when he was with the boys".  I guess this is really all they have to work with and we might even go into the conspiracies today as Joey takes then stand, they have nothing left to lose at this point.  How will Joey go out, with all the mainstream media there for one last shot of the boy blogger, what will he say or do to leave a lasting impression of who and what he really is?

  1. Its actually Michael Meissner. And, yes, it is very easy to conclude there was more to that relationship. Joey had talked about Meisner inviting him to his oak lawn area apartment prior blog post.

Who knows, they may have prayed On teen boys together.... Only Joey and Michael know their relationships and what they did. The common denominator in areas that Joey and Michael both used drugs and/or alcohol to seduce teens intohaving sex.....

  3. The creepy meter keeps going off. Didn't Dauben do some write-ups about some high school? Was that a front to try and develop contacts with teenagers? What about the "church"? Any adult could come and go add they pleased? Dauben takes off early the next day? If this"church" is in existence, aren't they guilty of not protecting the children?

  4. Joey needs to get up there, and either lie his butt off, or tell the truth.

Which one would be better for him to say at this point:

#1 - "I have no idea what this child's agenda is against me, but he is outright lying to this courtroom and disgracing me. I am a controversial figure in the county, and I have many who dislike me here. I can assure this court room, this jury, my parents, and the judge, that I did not engage in oral sex, anal sex, or anything sexual with this young man. He is perjuring himself under oath to this court room. I was at the camp, I did drink with the teens. I am not a homosexual, a pedophile, or a pervert.

I have a fiancee who I am about to marry. I ask this court room to please accept my statement as true. It is nearly impossible for a person based on their word alone to defend themselves verbally, based on word-of-mouth, against a person making accusations such as this. It is easy to demonize somebody accused of such things. This is (young man's name) word against mine. I did not take a shower with him, or have sex with him."

    OR

#2 - (while breaking down and crying) "I'm a very troubled person. I have never held a job. I've been confused my entire life about being a bisexual who leans homosexual and never wanted to let my father down. I was so scared of his response and how my family would accept me growing up. I was picked on and bullied all through school for my behavior, gestures, and movements that people perceived as gay. I've lived a very hurtful and immature life. This bled into my 20's where I felt that I would never be accepted for the way I am. I have no excuse for what I did to _______ but I can only offer him my sincere apologies to him. I ask for his forgiveness in this world, and in the next. In the deepest remorse and apology, I can only tell _____ that I never intended to harm him, and that I did not plan on that happening that night.

For this court and the jury, I sit here humiliated. I have no excuse or anything I can do about this situation now. I can assure this court and jury that I have completely had remorse for this horrible thing that I have done. I need help for my mental issues. I need help for the trauma that I suffered early on, which led into my adult life formulating my personality. I do not blame my issues however, and I am completely at fault for the crimes committed against _______.

In this world such evil crimes are often met without forgiveness. I am at the mercy of this courtroom, and I fully understand this. All I can do is assure this court room that I will never seek out underage children again. I always will be a registered sex offender and will always fully cooperate with what I am supposed to do.

I ask forgiveness of everybody in this room, especially _______, who I harmed. If you are unable to forgive, I hope I convey to you that I have complete remorse for my terrible actions."

    Sorry for the book.

I'm curious though what would be the better choice. DENY DENY DENY or Cry, remorse, admit, etc.

LOL, Mexico. I'm telling ya... I would not blame his daddy for accidentally leaving the keys to the lawless bronco on the coutner, a small map, a pair of cutters, and an envelope with a couple grand in it... Yeah, okay, I'm kidding.... If it was my child though I may. But a child who turned out to be a molester..... not good.

  7. What kind of church camp provides alcohol to minors? No one is allowed to do that except parents. If my teen had been there, I'd be furious. I think other charges need to come out of this.

  8. Anxiously awaiting the next update...

I cannot wait for him all night
I cannot wait for Joey's lies
I cannot wait for Webb to post
That Joey Dauben's ass is toast!

    Run, run, run, little Joey,
    You'd better run and hide
    Run, run, run, little Joey,
    Before they say you lied.

    Run, run, run, little Joey,
    Before there's no more hope.
    Run, run, run, little Joey,
    Before you drop the soap!

I was having lunch with my kid today in Midlothian and who should walk in but none other than Todd Phillipi. I was very tempted to ask Todd why he wasn't in Corsicana supporting one of his best buds. The kid wouldn't let me (what a kill joy I raised.)

Up until now my kid has been unwilling to discuss Joey (my kid is a Joey victim) but all of sudden was wondering how Kimberly feels about the mess her brother is in. That led to a long discussion about Kimberly, Joey and the trial.

Anyway, as some people have wondered about Kimberly, here's the scoop:

My kid stayed in touch with Kimberly until about a year ago. Kimberly lives out of state and apparently has little or no contact with her family. I was told that during a relationship that started in the 6th grade (1994) Kimberly has never talked about her family. In fact, my kid didn't know Kimberly and Joey were siblings until Joey told my kid, when they were all in the 7th or 8th grade. Nor did my kid know there was a younger sister until today.

My kid's take on it is that Kimberly was embarrassed by Joey. As freshmen, it was a big deal to all the kids that Joey was old enough to drive. Joey drove to school but Kimberly wouldn't ride with him, she rode the bus. Kimberly ignored Joey all through 6th grade, middle and high school, they didn't even speak in the halls. Kimberly had planned to attend the 10 year reunion (2011) but didn't. My kid thinks now it's because that's about the time Joey's crap started to hit the fan. Joey was also supposed to go, but didn't.

Joey never had a girl friend in school. My kid found it odd given that Joey was so much older than his class mates. I asked if there was any indication that Joey might be gay and trying to hide it. The answer was no, "Joey is just weird. Everybody thought Joey was weird". This should be no surprise, my kid said Joey was a rebel rouser, when he started writing for the school paper he liked to poke at people.

    1. Sounds like Kimberly was the smart one in the family. I figured as much since she never seemed to want to be apart of the circus. She just quietly goes about her business and is a productive member of society. Joey choose to be the opposite.

Todd should be a story all on his own. He was there with his girlfriend - she made their relationship obvious. We had to walk past them to get out. They were sitting on the same side of the booth, he was playing Words With Friends on his phone while they ate. Quite the lover boy that one is.....

  11. Wow, joey took the stand in his own defense. Its a conspiracy LOL. Brandy Owen testifes. Wow, good story David!

Not much of a defense, EH?

  12. Or he is possibly going to use the "insanity defense". He always sought the spotlight, the problem is he picked the wrong spotlight to make his stand.

I'm guessing his attorney made a point to inform the court that against his advice his client wanted to testify. Actually I think he is obligated to inform the court. Conspiracy conshmerancy.

    1. Insanity defense needs to be established prior to trial as a viable option.

    2. Yes, in the real world, but after today, anything can and does happen in Joey's world. He is going to try everything he can when the hammer drops.

And he was offered numerous deals to plea and have it over with. Why isn't DDauben screaming about a waste of taxpayers money for his son to put the young man of having to relive the details of the incident? If he screams conspiracy as the foundation for why this young man decided to put himself through this, he really is insane. Know-it-all Joey is taking himself down.

Wasn't it mentioned somewhere that he supplied liquor to the kid but now it's the kid's fault? I've seen the ranting like by his associates, doesn't help them on bit. And for the judge to have to pound his gavel to stop Dauben, the jury is going to let Dauben what they think of his antics. Dauben doesn't respect the courts or the jury and that is going to cost him big time.
