The Continual Misinformation of David Webb

So David decides to give us his front page treatment at his blog the rare reporter. We are a pit of vipers and spew a bunch of hate speech according to David. He is actually forthcoming in several aspects of his coverage with Joey which I appreciate, but he flat out lies about several of his claims. His first lie is that he continues to blame this blog for rumors that his coverage of Joey was because both of them were gay. Thats absolutely not true, neither myself or any other commenter on here made that claim before he came on here attacking us.

Then he makes this statement: "Then the author of the blog I referenced earlier as a snake pit contacted me, saying he understood that I had some kind of special connection with Dauben, who remained jailed at the time. He asked me if I would agree to be an anonymous source for his blog so he could write updates about Dauben's situation. I declined, saying that I really had no special inside track, nor would I do something like that in connection with any story, even if I did have an exclusive source. The truth is that Dauben probably would have communicated with anyone who would have reported about his situation, even this enemy who started the blog for the specific reason of attacking Dauben."

The first part of this is a straight up lie, I never said he had some kind of special connection, and the second part is a mischaracterization of my words.

So here you go, our entire email conversations unedited and unspun. You can reach your own conclusions:

I have been following your stories on the Joey Dauben situation. I have been a longtime critic of Joey, not because of his current charges or what he said his causes were, but of the way he did things. He was sloppy, wreckless and arrogant, and I knew sooner or later it would get him. Anyway, I have been running a blog about Joey for a while now http://joeyisalittlekid.wordpress.com/

and I was wondering if there is any real information you had that we could update everyone with? I'm not sure all the Judge ended up ruling on you, or if you can or can not continue your blog, but if there is some actual information such as when and where the trail date is, or any message Joey is trying to get through with, I could post it on my blog and leave you completely out of it. I'm not trying to get Joey convicted, but then again I'm certainly not on his side either as I despise the way he goes about things.

Hi:

The judge's ruling had no potential of affecting me in anyway. I was called to testify in the gag order hearing by the prosecutors who wanted the judge to order Dauben, his attorney and prosecutors not to speak to the media. The prosecutors wanted me, as a member of the professional media covering the case, to testify to the court about the amount of media coverage that has occurred, which is routine in gag order motions and in change of venue motions.

The judge denied the gag order motion, but Dauben's attorneys have advised him not to talk to the media about his case. That's the reason I haven't written anything else. There hasn't been anything to say.

I am not advocating anything other than that the public be kept informed, which has been my role as a professional journalist for more than three decades. I would hope that everyone believes as I do that Dauben is entitled to a fair trial, regardless of how many people he has angered over the years with his reporting, which admittedly has sometimes not conformed to accepted standards of professional journalism.

I don't anticipate writing anything else until the trial, unless something unexpected comes up. The date of the trial is available to anyone because it is public information. You should contact the court for that information as I'm not certain when it is scheduled. Trial dates often get reset multiple times before one actually takes place.

I have no idea what Dauben is currently thinking about his legal problems. The last time I talked to him, which was after the gag order hearing, he told me that he planned to follow his lawyers' advice to the letter.

Yeah I hope he gets a fair trial and frankly I hope he gets off on these charges (he can't entertain me in prison). I have seen one of these papers of his, but it looks like there are more. Do you know how many he has out there and where you can go to get them?

I actually have not seen any of the newspapers. I interviewed him via telephone text messaging for that story about publishing the papers. He said something about someone scheduling a protest, and that they planned to distribute them during it. I think that was supposed to be before primary election day. To tell the truth, I've put Dauben on the back burner until the trial and haven't given the case much thought. I just looked at your blog. Your information is more current than mine. I didn't know anything about books being written or the radio talk shows. I actually know very little about Dauben and his history. I met him about a year ago when I wrote a short story for cedarcreeklake.com about his relocating his office to the area. The stories in the Dallas media about him sparked my interest so I invited him to lunch at a local restaurant to interview him. Then, I resumed contact with him via mail, and later phone, after he was jailed to write about his legal problems. I've actually only seen him in person twice, once at lunch and then at the gag order hearing. I noticed your references to his family and in particular his father. Has Joey followed in his father's footsteps somehow? This is just for background. I'd just like to have a better understanding of how Joey was brought up and what has led him to be a religious, political crusader. His dad is very conservative/traditional, he has said things (this is coming through Joey) that could even be considered somewhat racist as well as regionalist (he hates the yankees), and Christian although I would say its more of part of the puzzle piece for their world view than would I say he is a devout Christian. The big kicker though is he is deeply conspiratorial. You know, we didn't really land on the moon type. Joey adopted this worldview, everything that happens has some sort of deep mastermind presence behind it that is evil at its core yet those that are orchestrating it have all the power so there isnt anything you can do about it. This is the part where Joey and his dad differ, his dad told him keep it quiet or they will get you, Joey said no I'm going to make it my mission in life to expose this for what it is. And thus a very interesting career is born. Yeah I have known Joey since about 2006. I'm kinda like you in that we may have lunch together once a year or so but most of the correspondence would be through email. Joey in real life and what he writes online are two completely different people. He is very friendly and somewhat meek in person, when he gets behind his keyboard its a different Joey. When he was first starting out, just out of high school, he had a ton of potential but he always gravitated towards people that shared his dad's worldview. I thought Joey was very personable, and I honestly didn't get any gay vibes from him at all. I was shocked when he was arrested. Did other people think Joey was gay? I've heard rumors that the person he is accused of sexually assaulting (and I know absolutely nothing about him at all) is gay. I would say he is bi at the least, I know he was after younger girls as well. I dont know Joey's dad just what Joey has said about him and what he has posted online. They are still married and I think still live in Ovilla. He was very much not outspoken as Joey was, his dad would never voice his opinions in an open forum such as Joey did. I have a long-planned cruise scheduled for late June so I may miss the trial. I'm actually retired, but I'm having a little trouble letting go of continuing to write the news. The sense I'm getting at this point is that if something happened it was consensual, but the guy was obviously underage. The law is the law, and there is just no way of getting around that. Weekend Open Thread

Joey still sits in jail as Daddy keeps playing the the Blazer and Presley continues to pray to the mighty lightning god to bring them this thing called money which is required to bail him out, so far nothing has happened.

Bill Windsor is asking everyone to submit new legislation for the new Nazi Empire.  They want to do away with case law and institute a Gestapo to oversee all the judges and their rulings.  He is desperately searching for a boogeyman to blame for his upcoming DC debacle.

David Webb has gone back to covering the news that really matters, like what the schedule at the local gay bar has on the horizon.

David Webb Impugns Patrick Wilson's Motives, and by Proxy Judge Bob Carroll

Last night, David Webb continued to give everyone no other reason but to believe he is a Daubinista.  First calling this blog a "hate campaign aimed at Joey".  He then admitted that he has been an key part in steering the appeal for Joey in the Ellis County case.  But he went all the way and bit into the apple of conspiracy with this statement:
 "I suspect that the Ellis County prosecutor knew it would be appealed, and realizes that the conviction probably will be overturned. He was under pressure to get a conviction. And that's politics for you."

Now as all of you know, the charges against Joey were spelled out clearly from day one of the raid on both his and his parents houses.  Fraudulent use of identifying information was spelled out and sourced for anyone who even did a partial due diligence of this case would have known.  The clear implication David is making is that Wilson rushed with these charges knowing that they were not applicable just because he had to show that he did something.  This also impugns Carroll as he should have thrown these charges out as well.  You can even take this one step further and say he is calling out Joey's public defender for not making that an issue during the trial, not to mention throwing the Red Oak PD under the bus in this as well since they were the ones who investigated and brought forth the charges. This is certainly a far cry from unbiased journalism, but it does explain why he was involved with Joey in the first place.

WHY WE MAY BE UNABLE TO SAVE AMERICA.

The plan that I conceived to save America will work, but it involves the need to reach millions of Americans. This will take an amazing effort from impassioned supporters and a lot of luck. Sadly, there are so many people out there trying to damage the Lawless America effort that they very well may undermine the effort. (so you are trying to prepare us to the fact that you were running a hoax all along)

You should be aware that there are a lot of great people battling various causes, but there are also people in it for money (disguised as non-profits where they get the money and don’t pay taxes) and power. (omg, how many people know about this?) THOSE people are as significant as our corrupt government officials.(why is those in all caps?) As I see it, they are both enemies of an effort to save America, reform the legal system, and regain our fundamental rights and the country that we thought we had. (the cult leader has identified his enemy)
I have said forever that there are two things I will not tolerate: liars and extremely rude people. Well, the folks trying to damage our efforts are both. (you even said this when you were a baby?)

I will always tell the truth. I have never knowingly said anything false since I began my personal efforts in 2006, which became Lawless America a few years later.(notice that key word knowingly, since he doesn’t know anything he can say whatever he wants) But there are people out there, specifically L. Wilson of WTP FPR, who is telling people and writing that I am a liar. I believe she also has written that lawless America is a scam.(she would be dead on then) I know supporters of Nancy Rolfe ofwww.govabuse.org have said so online because I have read it with my own eyes (what other eyes would you read with?) and have the screenshots. I advise everyone to not support either of those people or groups because I believe they are poison. (cultish verbiage)

The latest I have heard today is that I am in this for two reasons: (1) money, and (2) to make a name for myself. How incredibly rude and false! I have made it clear to tens of thousands of people for years that I will never make a penny off anything that I am doing to try to save America. (how do you know it was clear to them?) I do not own the movie. I will have no financial interest in the movie.(another little side note, there won’t even be a movie) I charge people nothing (except pie), and I try to help as many as I can. (especially if they can make pie) I have no money; my life's savings have been absolutely stolen by corrupt judges and attorneys in Atlanta, Georgia. I am penniless -- owing much more than I have.(so you are desperate for money, not really a good point to bring up in support of your claim) The outrageously corrupt Judge William S. Duffey has allowed the crooks in my case to file liens against my assets, and he has ordered me to pay attorneys’ fees, etc., so if I ever earned a cent, it would go to the crooks. I don’t anticipate ever earning another cent.(that will show them, I think Joey shared the same worldview on this) I made this public long ago and have discussed it numerous times on TalkShoe, etc. I have worked on this project far more than full-time for a year without a cent for myself. (but lots of pies)I previously drove to all 50 states (ummmm I have a question about driving to one of those states), so I didn’t have any personal need to go again.(is this one of the miracles you have performed?) I have also stated that should the movie become the blockbuster that we know it should be, the profits will go to those who donated/financed the project.(is there some contract somewhere that states this?) So the only people who would ever say I have done this for money are just plain liars with an apparent motive to say anything they can think of to undermine our noble efforts.

As to being in this to make a name for myself, that is equally false. In my opinion, it takes really pathetic people to go around saying such things.(I would just say it takes a person is all) I wish I were semi-invisible, but I’m not. (that’s right, you are fat) I admittedly swell up (admitting you are fat is the first step) with pride when people call me a hero and other such things. It is really a good feeling. But I absolutely did not enter this effort for myself or to make a name for myself or to be elected to any office or anything. LawlessAmerica.com became hot with the search engines because I know how to promote. Then I came up with programs, proposed legislation, and the movie project, and tens of thousands of people have responded and hundreds of thousands have visited the website, Facebook, etc. I was the guy driving the Jeep for 21,000 miles and running the camera most of the time. It’s hard to be invisible. (right you are fat, we get it) If we are going to accomplish something, there needs to be a leader, and I’m it. (again this isn’t a good point to bring up in support of your claim that you don’t want to make a name for yourself) I regret that my name will become known in the process because that pisses some people off who want to be the center of attention. (what does this even mean?)

There are a number of you who wish I wouldn’t write something like this. You advise me just to ignore this stuff. But that’s not me. I don’t believe I will ever be able to tolerate liars and extremely rude people. (so while you are fat, you also have very thin skin) There are extremely (ok its time to consult the thesaurus) dishonest people out there who have stolen the confidential database of Lawless America, have published all types of false information claiming I was working with them, who literally hijacked our long-scheduled January 9 event. (you mean the one you just scheduled last week?) I want to accomplish something positive. (most people do Bill) PLEASE do me a favor. If you want to support people who are working to undermine our effort, please just leave us alone. Please UnFriend Lawless America because we are at the maximum number of friends with 2,000 on the waiting list. I’d like to work with those people.(so we finally get to the point of this entire diatribe, you need people to unfriend you on face book)

David Webb Threatens Us

Over at the latest facebook page aimed at trying to blunt the right for us to have free speech, David Webb wrote this about us:
David Webb I don't have a mask to take off, but I'm more than ready to shoot the moon at the crowd that would deny someone their right to a fair trial and convict them beforehand. Let the judicial system work

He wants to shoot the moon at us, I'm not sure but is shoot the moon some kind of gay slang for try and kill us?  I think I need to contact the authorities, this is queerly I mean clearly going to keep me up at nights.

So David doesnt think Joey is getting a fair trial?  Well he certainly showed his hold card on that one.
