You can hardly compare what Boushie was doing to Bill and Mary D with Allie staying quiet about what Bill was doing to Boushie. Although neither behavior is acceptable in my world. From the PACER descriptions, it appears that Windsor's attempts to avoid discovery aren't going well. (I'm not sure which orders he's trying to set aside in Docket #366.) Hardly surprising, but I have a hard time understanding how he's going to be able to avoid the Maid folks forever.
Docket #364 is a motion for extension of time—clearly Windsor wants more time to respond to Maid's discovery (i.e., their factual inquiries, presumably regarding his finances and property holdings, so that they can get the money he owes them) than the 30 days that the federal rules usually provide. Judge Duffey, not surprisingly, denied Windsor's motion for more time. That means that, unless something has happened that doesn't show up on the PACER listing, Bill and Barbara are required to answer Maid's questions, give them the documents they request, and allow them access to the Windsors' property by... April Fool's Day. (The deadline would be March 30, but that's a Saturday.)
I wonder what that discovery deadline will mean for the new road trip Windsor wants to go on?
Reading docket #367 right now. It's not really shocking or impressive in its consequences (those are written right on the PACER entry), but it's one pissed off judge's order. Judge Duffey shows every sign of having lost his patience with Windsor.

Anon 9:46, I don't see anything (though I could have missed it--lots of filings there) about Windsor having been denied the right to proceed pro se. Docket #367, instead, includes a denial of Windsor's application for in forma pauperis status. In forma pauperis means "in the form of a pauper"; if you're granted that status, it means that you don't have to pay filing fees--because you've convinced the judge that (1) you're too poor to be able to afford the fees and (2) you're not totally wasting the court's time. Windsor has fallen at hurdle (2).
Also, with regard to the $500/day thing, note that the amount he owes is capped at the amount he already owed Maid as penalties for contempt, plus their attorney's fees they incurred in getting the decision ordering him to pay $500/day.
Frankly, I'm confused by the whole $500/day process (this is where my experience runs out--I've never seen someone commit such flagrant contempt of court and basically dare a federal judge to come and get him); does the fact that nothing has been filed regarding the contempt since January 24 mean that Windsor has actually ponied up tens of thousands of dollars to the court by now? Or (which seems more likely to me, given Windsor's prior behavior) is he ignoring the order to hand over that dough, compounding his contempt over and over again?

DeleteFrom the PACER descriptions, it appears that Windsor's attempts to avoid discovery aren't going well. (I'm not sure which orders he's trying to set aside in Docket #366.) Hardly surprising, but I have a hard time understanding how he's going to be able to avoid the Maid folks forever.
Docket #364 is a motion for extension of time—clearly Windsor wants more time to respond to Maid's discovery (i.e., their factual inquiries, presumably regarding his finances and property holdings, so that they can get the money he owes them) than the 30 days that the federal rules usually provide. Judge Duffey, not surprisingly, denied Windsor's motion for more time. That means that, unless something has happened that doesn't show up on the PACER listing, Bill and Barbara are required to answer Maid's questions, give them the documents they request, and allow them access to the Windsors' property by... April Fool's Day. (The deadline would be March 30, but that's a Saturday.)
I wonder what that discovery deadline will mean for the new road trip Windsor wants to go on?

Anon 9:46, I don't see anything (though I could have missed it--lots of filings there) about Windsor having been denied the right to proceed pro se. Docket #367, instead, includes a denial of Windsor's application for in forma pauperis status. In forma pauperis means "in the form of a pauper"; if you're granted that status, it means that you don't have to pay filing fees--because you've convinced the judge that (1) you're too poor to be able to afford the fees and (2) you're not totally wasting the court's time. Windsor has fallen at hurdle (2).
DeleteAlso, with regard to the $500/day thing, note that the amount he owes is capped at the amount he already owed Maid as penalties for contempt, plus their attorney's fees they incurred in getting the decision ordering him to pay $500/day.
DeleteFrankly, I'm confused by the whole $500/day process (this is where my experience runs out--I've never seen someone commit such flagrant contempt of court and basically dare a federal judge to come and get him); does the fact that nothing has been filed regarding the contempt since January 24 mean that Windsor has actually ponied up tens of thousands of dollars to the court by now? Or (which seems more likely to me, given Windsor's prior behavior) is he ignoring the order to hand over that dough, compounding his contempt over and over again?
Either way, it's just bizarre.

NBTDT you are correct at least as far as my participation goes. I would not have participated had any of this been shown. For that matter, if all I knew about was what happened in December with Petunia P and the post made on her wall, and the fallout from that, I would not have taken part. BW is one scary dude and all this new stuff shows how scary. Petunia Pigg wants to switch her blog over since ridding the internet of GS (not gingersnap - different GS), and expose BW, boustred et al. We are trying to talk her out of it.
