Since its now clear that all Webb is going to do is name call and try and pretend he clashed with a pit of vipers, its up to me to track down and report actual facts. David continues to claim that the initial problem he had with us was that we started the rumor: "If a gay reporter is covering Joey Dauben's case and the Dallas Voice is the
only publication covering it, then Dauben must be gay, the gay reporter must be
sexually attracted to Dauben or the gay reporter must be supportive of adults
engaging in sex with minors or all of the above."
Now, as we all know that was never even hinted at on my blog, but the first part of that sentence was in fact stated over at another blog run by another journalist.

I have never heard anyone insinuate that David must be supportive of adults engaging in sex with minors before he came on and attacked our blog (thats just his eternal victim complex kicking in) but the connection between the Dallas Voice and Joey being gay was made by others, just not me. The guy that wrote that blog was a reporter in the Lancaster/DeSoto area during Joey's first years with the Ellis County Press.

I think you need to get Webby to buy you a very expensive lunch so you can learn a thing or two about journalism.

Where have we heard this before? "The DA's office is obviously happy with the outcome of the trial so I wanted to show the defenses' side." "The other news papers covered what the DA and Judge said in the trial so I just wanted to cover the defenses side".
Oh and obvious side note, the little Dauben's didn't know about Mommy and Daddy filing for divorce until they read it on my blog? Kinda ironic that even the family members themselves have to come here to get their real Dauben news and updates, vs. what their parents tell them.

DeleteAs for the parents, aww someone let a skeleton out of the closet? I'm sure posting the free and accessible divorce papers online effed up the Daubens kids minds. Now the kids will never be the same knowing this information. Prior to the release of this classified info, the Daubens (especially Joey) were highly respectable upstanding hardworking good honorable citizens. Give me a break, what crap Webby. Is that all you can whine about? Really?
The only thing that is reprehensible in this mix is the glaring fact David Webb of "Therarereporter.blogspot.com" is supporting Joey and calling him a victim. A man who's most likely going to be convicted of raping a child. Webb clearly seems to have a BIG thing for Joey. I'm starting to wonder just how warped Webbs mind really is.
You know, I might have to hand it to you yappy. Before he came on the blog and blew his gasket I honestly thought was just a guy that knew Joey and had nothing better to write about so he followed the situation from an obvious Joey-point of view way as Joey was his only source in the story.

And another thing, David gave the most limp excuse ever for not wanting to "advertise" this blog. I have not noticed any homophobia on this blog. There have been some folks that thought they know Joey a little freaked out about not knowing Joey might be gay or bi-sexual. Others may have expressed an opinion, off topic as a side bar, with regard to nature vs nurture. And then of course you have David picking a fight with yappy and yappy let him have it. None of this adds up to homophobia.
ReplyDeleteDavid: I'm calling B.S. on that statement. Your insecurity is showing. Nobody has bashed anybody just because of sexual orientation. If you had spend any time reading the last blog before it was shut down, you would have discovered the regulars have a strong negative reaction to and shut down what you classify as "hate" speech. With regard to the Daubens and anybody else, it's very simple - don't post stupid stuff in public and we won't poke fun.

Poor David sounds like he's blaming the wrong people for who discloses to me how much the old whiney ass drinks. But that's just rumor at the moment. It must bother him greatly and he's getting mighty paranoid wondering who's yapping him 'out'. Actually much of the drinking I hear, is alone in his home. I heard he can't go without a lot of alcohol every night which makes him an official drunk. I guess its all those lonely nights and the demons that keep him awake at night. He sure pretends to be a certain way, the reality is far far far less glamours. How sad he needs to LOWER us here in order to RAISE JOEY on that pedestal. Whatever floats that boat Webby. You're the one that has the hots over a soon to be convicted child molester. That is a far bigger problem you should focus on.
